The Catalan independence process is now even making it into TV series across the Atlantic in the United States.
The latest example comes in episode 9 of the fifth season of Madam Secretary. In the episode, Spain wants to block Serbia and Kosovo from joining NATO to avoid inspiring Catalan independence supporters; a plotline with certain real-world parallels.

Madam Secretary, available on Movistar+ in Spain, is a CBS drama about a US Secretary of State.
Last year, HBO's comedy Casual, about a newly-divorced single mother back living with her brother, also saw Catalonia raise its head. In one episode, a character refuses to take photos in a "Spanish-style house until the Catalan situation is resolved".
