Queen Elizabeth II and her family will visit Catalonia’s Vall d'Aran. They will do so in fiction, with the characters that star in one of Netflix's most successful series, 'The Crown'. Its producer has chosen the Vall d’Aran landscapes to recreate the Swiss institute Alpin Videmanette where Princess Diana lived and studied before meeting and marrying Prince Charles. It appears that one of the chosen settings will be the Vielha institute and the Baqueira and Beret slopes. The town council itself has announced it.

Filming is scheduled for this month of March, between the 27th and the 31st, and a large production team and actors will be travelling there. In addition, castings are being planned to find extras and so far 200 candidates have applied. Men with an Anglo-Saxon profile between the ages of 25 and 50 are the most sought after.

The venue will be the TRYP hotel in Vielha. Vall d’Aran states that it is one of the most successful series in the platform, with a budget of 73 million euros and three consolidated seasons. For the next season, set in the 1980s, Lady Di and Margaret Thatcher will play a leading role. Actress Emma Corrin will play the character of Diana.
