Summer is definitely here for Europe, it seems the whole continent has been under one large heat wave for weeks. It's the kind of weather where, at some point during the afternoon, you'll find yourself wanting a sorbet. As such, El Nacional's pastissiers, Patricia and Cristina from La Noria Bakery, have brought us not just one, but two, and made with real fruit. So you can choose which you prefer: strawberry or mango. Or just make both anyway. And we're sweetening them with honey to make them that little bit healthier still. Irresistible!
Ingredients to make both:
- strawberries - 450 g / 16 oz
- mango - 450 g / 16 oz
- water - 150 ml / 5 floz
- honey - 100 ml / 3.5 floz
Recipe (strawberry version):
- Chop the fruit into small pieces
- Freeze overnight
- Add the fruit and half the honey to a blender
- Mix well
- Depending on how juicy the fruit is, you might need to add some extra water to get the right consistency (see video)
- Pour into a mould and freeze for at least 8 hours
- Serve and enjoy
Recipe (mango version):
- Peel the fruit and chop into small pieces
- Freeze overnight
- Add the fruit, half the honey and 100ml water to a blender
- Mix well
- Depending on how juicy the fruit is, you might need to add some extra water to get the right consistency (see video)
- Pour into a mould and freeze for at least 8 hours
