This lunchtime, Albert Rivera and Inés Arrimadas walked along a street in Alella, a large village just north of Barcelona, removing yellow loops. The two Ciutadans leaders "cleaned up" a stretch of railing in the middle of a swarm of cameras, who they then spoke to.
Barely had they left, however, before local residents set about replacing the loops that had been removed. It had worked for all of five minutes.
