Pro-independence organisation Catalan National Assembly (ANC) is to hold an event on Monday, 23rd September, as part of the 2019 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting. The conference, organised by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is taking place in Warsaw, Poland, between the 16th and 27th of this month.
The ANC is organising its own event on the trial of the imprisoned pro-independence leaders at 6:15pm local time. It will include the screening of a documentary by Al Jazeera on the trial and a round table discussion involving the Assembly's president, Elisenda Paluzie; one of the filmmakers behind the documentary, Callum Macrae; Christophe Marchand, a Belgian lawyer specialising in human rights; and Ralph Bunche, the general-secretary of the Unrepresentated Nations and Peoples Organisation.
The Human Dimension Implementation Meeting is Europe's largest annual human rights and democracy conference. Organised by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), it is attended by the OSCE's 57 participating states, its "partners for cooperation", as well as a large range of NGOs, international organisations and civil society bodies.
