An incomprehensible wave of anti-Catalan messages have appeared on Twitter after today's attack on Barcelona's famous Rambla. There have also been criticisms that authorities have been making announcements in Catalan, which is an official language in Catalunya, alongside Spanish.
"...Catalans hate Spain. Well this is karma."
"We'll give thanks to all the Catalans in favour of immigration and the successive pro-independence governments in Catalonia over the last two decades, thank you."
"Well, it's good to broadcast the news from #barcelona but in the end Catalans have died, not people, so there's no reason to be alarmed"
"Catalan politicians address all the Spanish media in Catalan they're subnormal. It's that difficult for them to speak so we can all understand."
"Indeed Real Madrid, everyone in Barcelona dead!!! Hahaha..."
"The arrogance of the Catalans!!"
"Didn't you want less tourism? Wish granted."
