The Spanish Boletín Oficial del Estado (Official State Gazette) has today published the lists of candidates for the Congress and Senate presented by the various political parties for the snap general election on 28th April.
Among the notable names standing are a number of the imprisoned pro-independence leaders currently on trial in the Supreme Court. Standing for Congress are Oriol Junqueras (ERC, Barcelona), Jordi Turull (JxCat, Lleida), Josep Rull (JxCat, Tarragona) and Jordi Sànchez (JxCat, Barcelona). Meanwhile, Raül Romeva is ERC's first candidate for Senate for Barcelona.
