Today is election day plus 1 in Catalonia. Parties and commentators are working out what the results mean and what happens now. But there are two clear ideas: the pro-independence parties will keep their majority in the chamber despite unionist Ciutadans being the party which received the most votes, while support for Partido Popular has dropped dramatically. Only 4% of voters chose Mariano Rajoy’s party, which enforced the suspension of self-government in Catalonia.
