The county of Baix Aragó-Casp, in the province of Zaragoza, has been added to the three other districts in Aragon which, as reported yesterday, have been required to reimpose Spain's Phase 2 lockdown restrictions, after a new coronavirus outbreak. Baix Aragó-Casp has around eleven new cases at present, according to sources in the Aragonese government. The Aragon autonomous community has this Tuesday published an order re-establishing the Phase 2 restrictions due to the resurgence of the virus.
Thus, residents of the county have been advised to avoid travel outside the district unless they have justifiable reasons for doing so (related to health, work, professional or business reasons, return to family residence, need to give assistance or care to the elderly, dependents or people with disabilities, force majeure or situation of need).
Baix Aragó-Casp joins the other three counties of eastern Aragon which on Monday had Phase 2 restrictions reimposed: Cinca Mitjà, Baix Cinca and La Llitera. Baix Aragó-Casp is located just to the south of Baix Cinca, and also borders Catalonia on its eastern flank and belongs to the partially-Catalan-speaking Franja de Ponent.
