The Human Rights League of France has released a statement criticising the imprisonment of Catalan vice-president Oriol Junqueras and seven fellow ministers. Following a number of other international organisations, they say say they "troubled by the treatment" of the crisis in Catalonia by prime minister Rajoy's Spanish government and criticise trying to solve "a political question by the judicial path". They also say that "imprisoning members of the former Catalan government as regional elections are called again empties the democratic debate of meaning", something which leads them to have "reservations" about the elections.
