The journalist Pilar Rahola has told the program Tot es mou on Catalan public broadcaster TV3 that she has also been told of a rumour doing the rounds in Madrid and worrying the Spanish monarchy. Namely, that the next leaked audio from former police officer Villarejo could involve queen Letizia.
"That's reached us. We didn't dare report it until there was support... from three different sources," she said.

Rahola specifically referred to reporting by El Nacional (in Spanish and Catalan) on rumours which run from alleged infidelity to a supposed account belonging to the queen containing millions of euros.
Already this year, leaked audio by or featuring Villarejo has sparked controversies around former prime minister Felipe González, current justice minister Dolores Delgado and king emeritus Juan Carlos I.
