The Catalan Parliament session requested this evening by president Carles Puigdemont to analyse the Spanish executive's decision to activate article 155 of the Constitution and remove the Catalan government from office will, in all likelihood, take place on this Friday, according to sources within JxSí (Together for Yes). The president called for the Parliament to analyse the consequences of the Spanish government's decision and to take the relevant decisions.
There is a meeting of the Parliament's Board of Spokespeople planned for Monday to discuss the timetable for the week. If it does end up being confirmed for Friday, the Catalan Parliament's session will take place the same day that the Spanish Senate is to hold a session, in which they are expected to ratify the application of article 155. The decision to move ahead with the suspension of the Catalan government was announced by prime minister Mariano Rajoy this morning after an extraordinary meeting of the Spanish cabinet.
