Spain's Foreign Affairs minister, Alfonso Dastis, has revealed that king Felipe VI and the French president, Emmanuel Macron, spoke "a little" about Catalonia in the meeting they held Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland, where both are taking part in the World Economic Forum.
Dastis gave no details about the contents of the conversation, but agreed with his government's priority in ensuring that Carles Puigdemont does not cross the border into Spain to attend next Tuesday's investiture debate in person.
Felipe VI and Macron also spoke about upcoming reciprocal visits by the French and Spanish executives and topics of shared interest, like energy connections. Dastis described the meeting as "very friendly and very pleasant".
