Hundreds of people have gathered this evening in front of the Spanish embassy in Belgravia, London, blocking the road, in protest at today's sentences against Catalan pro-independence leaders.

The demonstrators were seen to carry estelada "starred" pro-independence flags and a variety of banners with slogans in favour of independence and calling for the release of the prisoners.
The protesters weren't just Catalans, they also included, for example, a handful of MPs from the Scottish National Party.

ANC England had called simultaneous demonstrations for both Oxford and Manchester.
