TV editor Miquel Strubell, son of a well-known Catalan linguist, has shared new images recorded during last year's Catalan referendum. They were recorded at a polling station in Montroig del Camp in the south of Catalonia and show Civil Guard agents spraying some kind of gas at members of the public waiting outside.
NOVES IMATGES: La Guàrdia Civil va tirar GAS a la població de Mont-Roig del Camp, el dia 1-O. Seqüència completa amb imatges inèdites molt sorprenents. Que corri! pic.twitter.com/9WByag74v9

The video shows that residents had closed the gates to the polling station. Anti-riot officers march up to the bars and, unable to go further, spray some kind of irritant gas through the railings. Some people apparently start shouting for water, which others interpret as them saying that's what they're being sprayed with.
Later images show that other Civil Guard officers were apparently also affected by the gas.
