The Catalan president in exile, Carles Puigdemont, will travel to the Republic of Ireland next week to visit the Oireachtas, its Parliament. In a two-day visit to Dublin, he'll also meet the capital's mayor and with the chair of the Oireachtas Friends of Catalonia, the Catalan News Agency has learnt.
It will be the president's first trip to Ireland since he left Catalonia in October 2017. On Tuesday 29th, he'll attend the Oireachtas in the morning before giving a speech at Trinity College in the afternoon, considered the most prestigious university in Ireland. On Wednesday 30th, he'll meet Dublin's mayor, Nial Ring, in the city hall.
