This Wednesday, European Parliament's Greens' leader, Ska Keller, asked the new European Parliament president, David-Maria Sassoli, to help her group "restore Junqueras' parliamentary rights".
During her intervention after the election of the president, Keller reminded Sassoli that the Greens-ALE have an MEP who cannot take his seat "for reasons beyond his control".
Thanks @skakeller for defending my parliamentary rights as MEP elected of the @greensEP group! I could not be at the Strasbourg plenary this week but I hope to be able to join you very soon. pic.twitter.com/R0zQuYMUmv

The leader has also stated that her group is willing to cooperate with him and has confirmed her commitment to work to making the European Parliament a "more democratic, open and transparent” institution.
Congratulations to @DavidSassoli, newly elected President of the European Parliament. We hope that you will show the courage to stand up for our common values, human rights and rule of law. And we count on you to make this institution more democratic, open and transparent. pic.twitter.com/6t8ullH6MH
