The Spanish practice of the 'becerradas', where small calves go through the bullfighting motions in summer instead of bulls, has shocked the international German television channel Deutsche Welle, which has seen it as a sample of black Spain. In this practice, the animal is killed, as in the usual 'corridas' [bullfighting ring fiesta]. According to the German television, it is a "brutal" show described as "torture" practiced on calves.

"In the bullfighting parties in hundreds of Spanish towns and villages, a cruel spectacle is held. In the so-called becerradas, the calves are chased in the bullfighting ring and tortured with skewers, usually until death,".

The German television channel also collects images of threats to the journalists who carried out the documentary, by followers of the becerradas, in this case in Castilla and León. "Do not record or I'll blow your camera," says one of the corrida fans.

The documentary interviews members of the PACMA party, which opposes the becerradas, while providing a platform to raise awareness on the issue and to explain how they want to end these practices.
