Today, two rallies were held in Catalonia and Hong Kong, expressing mutual support and solidarity.
In Barcelona, however, the demonstration didn't go unopposed. A small number of supporters of the regime in Beijing showed up for a counter-protest. Two of them went as far as clashing with a supporter of Hong Kong. A Twitter user who posted video of the incident taken from a live feed claimed that they "took away her slogans and attempted to kick her".
In the video, the pro-Beijing men can be heard asking the woman "how much are they paying you?" in Spanish, whilst one of them rips up a sign before apparently kicking at her suitcase. She replies that she's not being paid anything.
In #Barcelona #Spain, #Chinese men harassing a woman who support the people of #HongKong. They took away her slogans and attempted to kick her. Unlike Hong Kong #police, Spanish police do their job
