Images of the police violence from the Catalan independence referendum on 1st October last year this Monday reached the UN. The images in question show the extreme violence suffered by Institut Pau Claris in Barcelona during that day. They were shown by the Centre for the Defence of Human Rights, taking part in one of this week's many events about the regression of human rights in Spain in Geneva. The images surprised some of the attendees in the audience for their severity.
Among the attendees at the event were president Carles Puigdemont, former CUP deputy Anna Gabriel, MEP Jordi Solé (ERC), as well as family members of the prisoners and exiles like Laura Masvidal, Txell Bonet and Betona Comín.
