The Popular Party's number one candidate for Barcelona in the upcoming Spanish general election, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, said that the Catalan public broadcaster TV3 will have to be closed if it does not "scrupulously reflect the democratic foundations and opinions of the whole of society."
On a pre-campaign visit this Sunday at noon to the city of Sabadell, Álvarez de Toledo demanded the "neutrality" of institutions and of public media because they are based on resources paid for "by everyone", she said.

"Either TV3 is everyone's or it's no one's, in as much as it would have to be closed," said the PP candidate flatly, saying that there are "star" presenters and participants who "walk around wearing yellow ribbons". "We want a television network that is everyone's", she underlined.
