Finnish police do not know where Carles Puigdemont is. According to a statement from the country's police on the European arrest warrant activitated for the exiled Catalan president, the "normal process" to be followed in the event of an extradition request will have been set in motion, once the Finnish authorities had received the additional information that was requested from Spain. However, at the same time they indicated that "at present, the police do not know where this person is."
In fact, on Saturday it emerged that part of the documentation required to activate the extradition order had been sent in Spanish and therefore had to be translated, a fact that could have delayed the time at which the Finnish prosecutor's office was able to study the possible actions made necessary by the European warrant.
Puigdemont was still in Finland on Saturday, although his planned schedule, before the arrest warrant was reactivated, involved a return to Belgium today.
