Exiled Catalan minister Clara Ponsatí has reappeared in public - in central London. The education minister in exile marched at the head of the demonstration in favour of the Catalan Republic that was held on Sunday afternoon in London, in parallel with that in Barcelona. "Thank you for your support. We demand and we won't stop demanding liberty for the political prisoners", declared the minister through a megaphone.
The demonstration, called by London's Committee for the Defence of the Republic and the international area of the Catalan National Assembly(ANC), took place in the heart of London at Picadilly Circus, at the same time as thousands gathered in Barcelona. The appearance of Ponsatí comes a day after she announced her decision to leave Brussels and move to Scotland, where she will resume her work as an economics professor at the University of Saint Andrews, a position she held prior to appointment to the Catalan government last July.
