Acting Catalan president Carles Puigdemont has called his entire parliamentary group JuntsxCat (Together for Catalonia) to meet on Monday in Brussels, in order to discuss the formula to be used to make possible the Catalan parliamentary session for the investiture of the new president.
Some of the JuntsxCat deputies are already in the Belgian capital, having travelled north on Saturday to prepare Sunday's meeting between Puigdemont and the negotiators for the other large pro-independence group, ERC (Catalan Republican Left). The rest of the JuntsxCat MPs will travel to Brussels on Monday.
JuntsxCat sources say that the meeting is planned as a "working session to evaluate the negotiations" on the investiture debate.
The assembled deputies in Brussels, then, will be analysing the proposal at the same time as the ERC group in Barcelona. The latter has included, in the agenda for its regular Monday meeting, a consideration of the formula which Puigdemont discussed with ERC representatives in the meeting held on Sunday in Brussels.
