Girona did not allow themselves to be intimidated by Real Madrid and responded to the thrashing that the blancs gave to Vila-real with a convincing victory against Alavés (3-0), taking the 3 points to regain the lead at the top of La Liga, thus leaving Barça (9 points behind) and Atlético (10 points back) in the dust, and continue riding the cloud which Míchel's men refuse to get off. Girona now has 44 points out of a possible 51, with 41 goals in their favour, spectacular numbers for a team that, in addition, remains faithful to its own, original game, based on possession and a clearly offensive vocation.
